Important Information about telc Exams
How much does the exam cost?
The exam fees vary. Please check our website for the current prices, as they are updated regularly.
How can I prepare for the exam?
• Courses and self-study: Attend a language course or study on your own. You can find appropriate course books for preparation at various bookstores.
• Practice tests: Familiarity with the exam process and the individual components is essential. Use practice materials and learning objectives to prepare optimally.
What items are allowed in the exam room?
In the exam room, you may bring the following items:
• Writing tools like pencils, pens, sharpeners, and erasers
• Drinks in transparent, label-free bottles
• Personal hygiene items like tissue paper
Not allowed are bags, jackets, mobile phones, watches, or other personal items. These must be left outside the exam room before the exam begins.
When will I receive my exam results?
The evaluation of the exam can take between 4 and 6 weeks, depending on the number of participants and the exams to be processed.
Can I retake the exam?
Yes, you can retake the exam as many times as you need. Whether you can retake individual parts of the exam or the entire exam depends on the specific level.
What happens if my certificate is lost or damaged?
If your certificate is lost or damaged, you can request a duplicate within a certain period:
• telc certificates: Archived for up to 10 years
• DTB certificates: Archived for up to 5 years
Reissuing a certificate is subject to a fee and will be issued as a duplicate with a signature and stamp. You can submit the request through the contact form on the language test provider’s website.
